Hi Everyone!
So, I am starting to get the hang of making these pierogi, in the sense that I finally have all my ingredients and am just making sure my recipe is a close as to the one that my grandma had given my mom. However, most of the recipes online are almost the exact same, but they are in English! Phew!
So, listen up the ingredients part of pierogi is not that hard because all you basically need is dough and filling. The tradition pierogi is made from potatoes and cottage cheese (which is the one that I will be making). The tough part is not the filling but actually making the shape of the pierogi and ensuring that it does not fall apart when I boil them in hot water. Even my mom said that the first time that she made pierogi they completely fell apart because she did not secure the dough properly (which I hope does not happen for me... fingers crossed). Also, the amount of time you boil your pierogi is important too because if you boil for too long they will be hard but if for too short then they will be raw.
So I think I have my work cut out of me but I am feeling more confident each day as I completely prepare myself to make them.
Continue wishing me luck, hopefully they turn out delicious!
